Luggage storage Paris Gare du Nord Station

Truth be told, the area around the Gare du Nord in Paris isn’t particularly well known as a tourist hotspot or area of great beauty, and it can be a bit dodgy after dark. A cool, thought-provoking site is the “maison fond” beside the station, an art piece of a typical Haussmann building melting into the ground as a comment on global warming. If you like a fright, le Manoir de Paris offers a terrifying haunted house experience in a former ceramic factory. The Musée de Chocolat is a fun and interesting little museum detailing 4,000 years of chocolate history!

To get to the Eurostar, pass through the Eurostar ticket gates located on the mezzanine's first floor. The mezzanine overlooks the main hall of the station. The train uses platforms 3-6.

There are numerous places to change cash at Gare du Nord, with services all around the station in any retail area. Make sure you get a good rate!

Yes, there are trained staff to aid people with reduced mobility to get on and off trains and wheelchairs. All platforms are accessible by elevators also.

Yes, for visually impaired people, there are orientation systems at the entrance to help you get around and audible versions of the information screens to help you find your train.

The location of the self-service piano in the station is constantly changing, but if you’re really keen to play, you can ask a staff member or listen out closely to see if you can hear it in the distance!

In such a big station, it is no surprise that many shops, services, and restaurants are present in the station. Restaurants, boulangeries, fashion outlets, bookshops, even florists - they’re all to be found in Gare du Nord.

There is free Wi-Fi in the station, so if you have a bit of work to catch up on, why not relax in a café or restaurant and finish your work on your laptop? Otherwise, the Regus center is opposite the 14th platform, which is a rented workspace zone.

There are plenty of bicycle racks outside the station. If you want something a little more secure, you can place your bike in a securely shared shed with SNCF or check out our partner company Eelway, and save 40% when booking baggage storage with Nannybag.

Located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris Gare du Nord (or the North Station in English), is one of the six large Parisian train stations. The station serves trains coming from the north and northeast of France, including international trains from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, as well as Eurostar services coming under the English Channel from London. The first line of the Paris–Lille railway was built in 1846, and the first station was built in 1848. In 1854, the station was expanded with the addition of a second line. In the early 1860s, the station was completely remodeled with the addition of a third line, with the work undertaken by architect Jacques Ignace Hittorf; most of the present station building dates from this time. Over the course of the twentieth century, much remodeling of the station took place to facilitate the addition of new lines and services; work is currently ongoing, with refurbishments planned for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Today, The station is built on two levels, with the main concourse and ticketing area on the upper level and the train platforms on the lower level. The station has a total of 24 platforms, 20 of which are used for passenger trains and 4 of which are used for suburban trains. In the near future, there are plans to install a gym, a putting course, a fitness trail, a tennis course, a putting range, and 7,000 square meters of green space. Refurbishment and expansion of the station have been long-called for; up to 700,000 people pass through the station every day, most people commuting to and from the northern suburbs and Paris city. Gare du Nord is, therefore, the busiest train station in Europe, and after all the planned extensions and refurbishments, it will also be the largest train station in Europe.
